The dMEC specialises in the use of
videoconferencing to support teaching and learning in schools
throughout the UK. The videoconferencing test facilities
at the centre are available for schools to use and you can
contact us for advice on any aspect of educational videoconferencing.
Currently over 50 Devon schools are using videoconferencing
and there are details of some of the work they are involved
in on this site.
Devon LDP Advisers Tim Arnold and Steve Cayley worked
with the DfES on the Videoconferencing in the Classroom
project from 2000 - 2004. The project publication ‘Videoconferencing
in the Classroom’ was first published in May
2002 and revised and reprinted in January 2004. Copies
of both editions are available on this website to
download.
As well as working in Devon, Tim and Steve are currently
working as videoconferencing consultants for the
TDA and Becta, developing the use of educational
videoconferencing in schools.
Two video case studies on the use of videoconferencing
to support the teaching
of English at KS3 and one case
study on KS2 links
with the Royal Albert Memorial Museum on the Romans are
available on this site.
For advice on videoconferencing contact Tim
Arnold.
