Ann Alison, Headteacher at St Mary’s, and Phil Beniston, Year 6 and 6 teacher, thought all the children gained a lot from the videoconference and that there were some special benefits for the less able.

Dave Johns is a Year 3 teacher at Plumpton Primary School. He sees the benefits of videoconferencing as many and varied. In this clip he explains that it is a very easy-to-use resource with none of the risks attached to taking children out of school – although it shouldn’t replace visits!

We hear a lot nowadays about the importance of embedding the use of ICT in the curriculum. In this clip Dave explains the work the class have been doing and how the videoconference supports and enhances it.

This was Dave John’s first experience of videoconferencing and here he explains two crucial things he learnt were the importance of preset shots and the role of facilitator the teacher needs to play to make the most of the opportunity.
